Jolien Schure

Bonn International Center for Conversion (BICC)

Jolien Schure is researcher at the Bonn International Center for Conversion (BICC) and works for the programme on the nexus between natural resources, governance and armed conflict. She was involved in a study called the ‘Resource Conflict Monitor' on the issue of resource governance in 90 countries worldwide. Moreover, she coordinates the German focal point of the Fatal Transactions campaigns which raises awareness about ‘resource exploitation and conflict'.

From 2002- 2006, Jolien Schure worked for the Netherlands institute for Southern Africa (NiZA) as Programme Officer for the Economic Justice department. She is one of the founders of a capacity building network with twenty civil society organizations in Southern Africa. Her responsibilities were coordination of joint activities (of European and African organizations) such as training on action research and advocacy about illegal trade of minerals from the DRCongo.
